The Toyota Tacoma has long been one of the most popular pickup trucks in its segment. In fact, it almost always has been, even though it hasn't received any significant improvements in quite some time. That all changed last year with the introduction of an all-new generation of the Toyota Tacoma. This year, the 2018 Toyota Tacoma is back with more than 13 combinations of versions, engines and models. You'll always find what you need in the Toyota Tacoma lineup.
A 2018 Toyota Tacoma for your lifestyle
No matter what you want to do with your 2018 Toyota Tacoma, you'll find a model in its extensive lineup that meets your needs. For starters, there are different engines available to you. The first is a 3.5-liter V6 with 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be the first choice for most buyers, but you can also choose a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque.
While this four-cylinder engine will be the first option for those who want a pickup truck that amazes with its fuel economy, the fact remains that it is also quite impressive on the road. So is the V6, and depending on the engine you choose you can tow between 3,500 pounds and 6,500 pounds with your 2018 Toyota Tacoma.
A manual transmission is available as is a six-speed automatic. There are also different engine configurations with rear-wheel drive 4x2 systems or a 4x4 cog equipped with an on-demand 4WD system and a 2-range transfer case with an adjustable differential.
For 2018, all Toyota Tacomas will receive standard Toyota Safety Sense P driver assistance system that includes pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning system, automatic high beams and dynamic radar cruise control.
"The Toyota Tacoma is the legendary truck, the result of more than 80 years of experience building trucks designed to conquer the world's toughest terrains and climates," said Cyril Dimitris, vice president of Toyota Canada Inc. "The 2018 Toyota Tacoma, a powerful, capable and adventure-loving truck, is ready to conquer Canadian motorists and write a new chapter in the legend."
