The Toyota Highlander was completely redesigned last year and offers future owners a variety of trim levels and models including an efficient hybrid engine. If you are looking for a versatile and spacious vehicle that is also economical and very safe, the Highlander is a great option.
It is also packed with rock-solid reliability and offers excellent resale value. In short, for a hassle-free SUV that gives you more than the competition, the 2021 Toyota Highlander will exceed your expectations. Especially since it offers an excellent hybrid engine that impresses.
The hybrid versions benefit from a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine which, thanks to the work of two electric units, offers an output of 243 horsepower and a torque of 263 lb-ft. With average fuel consumption of 6.6 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 6.8 litres for highway driving, the Highlander Hybrid is the most economical three-row SUV you can buy.
If you prefer a model offered with a traditional engine, the Highlander is also available with a 3.5-litre V6 engine which is good for 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. Towing capacity is set at 5,000 pounds while the hybrid model can still tow 3,500 pounds.
The 2021 Toyota Highlander also comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system as standard. This package now includes Intersection Assist and the Emergency Steering Assist (ESA) system designed to help the driver get into the lane they want. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control provides cornering speed management, Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist now includes road recognition, and Lane Keep Assist now provides faster control and greater stability after changing lanes.
