Toyota surprised everyone at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week by unveiling the new Prius. While it retains the majority of its current features, the 2019 Toyota Prius adds a major weapon to its arsenal with the addition of AWD-e.
This will make the 2019 Toyota Prius one of the few hybrid cars to offer all-wheel drive, and the only car in its class to do so. There is no doubt that the new Prius will be able to impress with its exclusive technologies.
According to Toyota, the all-wheel drive Prius will get only 4.7 L/100 km. The front-wheel drive Prius averages only 4.5 L/100 km.
AWD-e will be available on Technology and Technology with Enhanced Package models. AWD-e is active from 0 to 70 km/h and allows for trouble-free driving away from snow drifts, as well as offering greatly improved stability on slippery surfaces.
