With the advanced, standard safety features of Toyota Safety Sense and a new platform designed to protect the occupant, the all-new 2019 Toyota Avalon received the IIHS' most prestigious safety award this week.
That's because the Toyota Avalon was named a Top Safety Pick+, the highest safety rating it can receive.
The new Avalon comes standard with Toyota Safety SenseTM P - a suite of advanced active safety technologies designed to assist the driver and help mitigate the risk of a collision. These include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist, and Automatic High Beams.
To win the 2018 BEST SAFETY CHOICE+ award, tested vehicles had to earn "good" ratings in the light and moderate overlap frontal crash, side impact, roof strength and driver-side head restraint effectiveness tests, as well as an "acceptable" or "good" rating in the passenger-side light overlap crash tests. In addition, this award requires an "exceptional" or "high" rating for front crash prevention, and a "good" rating for headlights.
