The Toyota Avalon may not be the best-selling car in the Toyota lineup, but it is nevertheless one of the most important cars offered by the Japanese manufacturer on the market today. Indeed, the Toyota Avalon serves as a sort of flagship for the Japanese brand, and offers an impressive combination of comfort, technology and refinement.
Toyota considers it a luxury car, and when you see all it has to offer, you understand why. This is even more true with the new 2019 Toyota Avalon presented a few weeks ago at the Detroit International Auto Show.
Completely redesigned, the 2019 Toyota Avalon will be even more appealing to consumers looking for a car that focuses on smoothness and comfort.
A more fun-to-drive 2019 Toyota Avalon
That said, the old Avalon wasn't necessarily considered fun to drive. That's quite the opposite with the new 2019 Toyota Avalon, which will be built on Toyota's new TNGA platform. This platform is also found under the body of the new Toyota Camry, among others, and it offers an array of benefits that go beyond just ride comfort.
Indeed, with the TNGA platform, it is possible to get a sportier car as well and sharpened handling. The 2019 Toyota Avalon intends to take advantage of this possibility, and Toyota already promises that it will be one of the most pleasant and dynamic cars in its segment while remaining very comfortable.
The 2019 Toyota Avalon is lower and wider than the model it replaces, and its handling should benefit greatly. In addition, the TNGA platform will allow for the addition of a 3.5-liter V6 engine whose specifications are not yet known, but which should be among the most powerful and economical in its segment. A new suspension based on the one found in the luxurious Lexus LS is also planned.
On the safety front, the 2019 Toyota Avalon will also stand out with the addition of the Toyota Safety Sense P package, which includes several driver assistance features, including smart cruise control, lane departure warning with automatic steering, automatic braking with pedestrian detection and more.
